The Mercedes-Benz C 240 sedan was a model in the greater Mercedes-Benz Series 202 and 203 lines and an important member of the Mercedes-Benz C-Class. It debuted in 1997, replacing the Mercedes-Benz C 230, and it was available until 2005.
From 1997 to 2000, the car had a 2.4-liter V6 engine, paired with a choice between five-speed manual and automatic transmissions; together they delivered 170 horsepower. From 2000 to 2005, a 2.6-liter V6 came standard, and transmission options included a six-speed manual and a five-speed automatic.
Features ranged widely. Initially, for instance, you could get everything from improved front and rear bumpers (redesigned from previous iterations) to sporty body-color side skirts and dark tinted taillights. Distinctive features, however, included s slightly modified radiator grille, new interior door paneling and seat covers, and ASR acceleration skid control.
