All About Wheel Lugs for Mercedes-Benz

A wheel lug, also known as a lug nut or wheel nut, is a specially designed fastener that secures a wheel to your Mercedes-Benz vehicle. One does so by threading onto a stud, applying enough pressure to help keep the wheel in place and prevent the other nuts, bearings, and studs from becoming damaged or suffering exposure.

Most lug nuts feature rounded, or tapered, ends. They help the nuts thread onto wheel studs, keeping wheels centered on axles and reducing the chances of the nuts loosening as you drive down the road. Alternative design options include rounded, hemispherical, or ball seats -- all of which perform the same function as conical nuts. Finally, some models may feature lug bolts that screw directly into the wheel hub.

Looking to upgrade, but not sure how to go about it? Consider scheduling an appointment at a Mercedes-Benz service center; a certified mechanic will be happy to help out.
